The MCP Connector
for MT5 brokers

A white-label bridge that lets your MT5 traders use Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, Cursor and other AI clients with their existing account at your broker. Branded under your name. Credentials never leave the trader’s machine. Paper-first safety.

01

The shift that’s happening

In the last six months, consumer-grade AI assistants — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, Cursor — have gone from chat novelty to the default surface where sophisticated users work. The protocol that makes this work is MCP (Model Context Protocol), launched by Anthropic in late 2024 and now supported by every major AI client. Every category of software is adding MCP support. Retail trading hasn’t. No major MT5 broker currently lets an AI client talk to a trader’s MT5 terminal in a safe, branded, broker-controlled way. Your most sophisticated and highest-volume clients are already prompting ChatGPT to write them MT5 bots and copy-pasting the output. That workflow is dangerous, un-branded, and happens entirely outside your relationship with them.

What your traders get

AI trading with their existing account at your broker
No new signup, no credential migration, no second platform to maintain.
Any AI client of their choice
Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code, future entrants. They are not locked to one AI vendor.
A branded install, your domain, your onboarding
The connector downloads from ai.yourbroker.com, the docs sit in your help centre, support tickets route to your team or ours.
Paper-first safety
Every AI order is paper by default; live orders require an explicit per-trader setting the AI cannot touch.
Full audit trail of every AI action
Optional premium feature for regulated clients and family-office accounts; MiFID-II / NFA-compatible.
03

What you get as a broker

Retention of the AI-interested segment
The 10–15% of your book that is most technically sophisticated and most price-sensitive — the segment most likely to churn to the next broker offering a shiny tool. The connector turns an off-platform, broker-indifferent workflow into a branded feature only your account provides.
A differentiation story in a crowded market
“The first MT5 broker with native AI trading” is a headline you can lead with for 6–12 months before the category commoditises. First-mover window is open.
No new trader-data liability
The connector is local-only. No account, credential, or order data flows through Basis Points or your infrastructure. GDPR / data-residency / risk-team hurdles are minimal.
A real engineering story for board and regulators
“We shipped the first MCP connector for MT5” is the kind of concrete modern-infrastructure story that increasingly matters for valuation and licensing conversations.

MCP tool surface — 11 tools

Bounded. Specific. Mode-gated tools cannot execute live orders without a per-trader flag the AI cannot flip.

Safety posture

Live orders require an MT5ALGO_LIVE=1 environment flag set by the trader in their own AI client configuration. Without it, any AI-issued mode: “live”order is silently coerced to paper and the response says so. The AI cannot flip this flag. “Two keys” by design.

05

Deployment options

All three options keep the trader experience identical. The choice is a matter of where your team wants the operational boundary.

Recommended v1
Option A · White-label hosted
Basis Points operates the branded install endpoint, update server, status page and incident response. Your team owns the brand surface (domain, UI, docs, onboarding copy). We ship signed installers, run beta channels, and keep the connector compatible with every new MT5 build and MCP client release. Your IT and compliance teams never touch infrastructure.
Option B · Co-managed
We supply the source, build pipeline, and release process. Your team deploys from an internal CI into your own infrastructure. Suitable for brokers with existing SOC 2 / ISO 27001 postures who prefer end-to-end control.
Option C · Source license
Perpetual source license with annual maintenance. Your engineering team owns the full stack. Suitable for the top end of the market — brokers who already run significant proprietary trading infrastructure.
06

Commercial models

Flexible to fit standard broker-vendor relationships. Any combination can be structured. We prefer to anchor conversations to the trader population you want to serve.

Per-account subscription
$5–15 USD / mo / active trader
Simple, predictable, scales with adoption. Typical starting point.
Flat platform licence
$8–25K USD / month
Unlimited active traders within one broker brand. Preferred by larger brokers.
Setup + rev share
$25–75K setup + % of commissions
On referred new accounts attributable to the AI tool. Preferred when the primary goal is new-account acquisition.
Audit & compliance tier
$20K / yr per 100 regulated accounts
Add-on for Option A/B. Full MiFID-II / NFA-compatible logging of every AI tool call.
07

Timeline — 3 to 5 weeks

From signed engagement to a branded production deployment, assuming Option A (white-label hosted). Option B adds 2–4 weeks for your internal deployment. Option C is scoped per-engagement.

Week 1Brand assets, domain, subdomain setup, DNS. Agreement on tool surface and any broker-specific extensions.
Week 2Branded installer builds, QA against your demo and live servers. Signed Windows installer; signed macOS installer if required.
Week 3Docs branded for your help centre, your support team trained, status page provisioned, incident playbook agreed.
Week 4–5Closed beta with ~50 of your highest-engagement traders, feedback incorporated.
Week 6General availability on your platform.
